In the wake of a measles outbreak New York City declared a public health emergency in Brooklyn’s Williamsburg section (which covers 4 zip codes!) and they are now forcing it’s residence to get mandatory vaccinations or face a $1,000 fine. The declaration requires all unvaccinated people who may have been exposed to the virus to get the vaccine, including children over six months old.
